A Family Legacy

Medicalised Mum Collective was created from a place I never expected to find myself.

Hi, my name is Kait. I’m a mum to three beautiful children and a wife to my childhood sweetheart.

In 2020, in the middle of the COVID outbreak, our world was turned upside down when my son experienced his first tonic clonic seizure. What followed was a journey that changed us forever. Seven years later, my son has since grown his angel wings and is no longer earthside.

I created this journal while living in the thick of that life—holding onto hope, navigating uncertainty and learning more than I ever thought possible. Since then, I’ve continued to pour my heart into creating something deeply meaningful, something filled with purpose, to honour my son and everything he taught me during his short but incredibly impactful life.

Like so many parents in this community, my life became shaped by appointments, diagnoses, hospital bags, medication schedules and constant advocacy. Alongside loving my child deeply, I learned how heavy the invisible load of medical parenting can be. As well as how isolating it feels and how quickly the world expects you to 'adjust' and keep going.

I created Medicalised Mum Collective because I couldn’t find the kind of support I needed. I needed something that acknowledged how hard this life is, without trying to fix it or wrap it in positivity that didn’t fit. I needed tools that were practical, grounding and gentle. I needed reminders that I was doing my best, even on the days that felt like I was simply surviving.

The medical journals were born from lived experience. They are designed to hold the details that live in your head: the appointments, medications, seizure logs, therapy notes and observations. Simply so, you don’t have to carry everything alone. They are not about control or perfection. They are about clarity, advocacy and self-trust.

The affirmation cards were created with the same intention: to remind parents and siblings that they matter too. That their roles in this journey are significant. That they are enough, exactly as they are.

Medicalised Mum Collective is not just a brand. It is a space built on understanding, compassion and shared experience. A place where you don’t need to explain yourself, justify your exhaustion or pretend to be okay.

If you’re here, welcome.

If this life feels heavy, you’re not alone.

And if today is about getting through, this space is for you.

Big love always,

Kait
